SMSB offers remittance services for retail clients or individual clients. The following services are offered for retail clients:
Account Credit – remitted funds will be credited in local currency into the beneficiary’s active account.
Cash Pick-Up – remitted funds can be picked up from any agents of the payout partner upon presentation of one (1) valid government ID.
SMSB ensures that all money received from clients are held safely in our capacity as the custodian of client’s cash. Bank Negara Malaysia oversees all remittance services hence SMSB is strictly required to comply or adhere with BNM guidelines.
For the remittance to be processed successfully, it is important for you to produce us with the beneficiary’s exact name, bank name and account number. Please be reminded that each remittance is subject to a fixed service charge depending on the corridor.
In order to serve our customer better and efficiently, SMSB also provide remittance access through its mobile apps and online portal.
To access the online remittance service, you must first register your registered phone number and follow thru in filling up other details at smartremit2u.com
Alternatively, you can also perform the registration through SMSB Mobile App by downloading the app at App Store for iOS phone or at Google Play for android phone.
Upon completion of the registration, you are required to present yourself at the nearest SMSB branch location for verification.
Once the registration is completed, you can then start performing your transaction by log in with your phone number and password. Both Online Portal and Mobile App is made in such a way that it is easy to understand and use.
Payment for the remittance transaction can be made through FPX service, which is much more safer, reliable and convenient.
You also have the feasibility of checking on the payment by clicking the “History” tab or downloading the receipt from the “Download Receipt” tab.
Please take note that in line with Bank Negara Malaysia rules, you can only remit up to the permissible amount. The number of transactions completed using SMSB Online Portal or Mobile App is also limited as per our company policy. For further information regarding the permissible remittance amount and number of transactions, you may contact our customer care or visit our branches. Transactions that go beyond the limit will be declined.
Watch out for scam calls, texts, emails, and links to phoney businesses, financial institutions, and governmental organisations. SMSB will NOT request for your private information via phone, SMS, email, or allow you to enter your personal information on any unapproved website (such as your bank card password, SMS OTP, or other similar information).
